How do you know I was at Mekvilai?

Food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had the "Sunday Special" which was the Ginger Chicken Bowl plus a crispy roll for only $7.95. My bride had the "Drunken Noodles" with tofu...basically wide, tasty noodles with veggies and tofu. That was under $7. We also enjoyed an appetizer of fried tofu strips with an excellent peanut sauce. Downsides? It's located in a slightly creepy mall, and the bathroom was not clean. All in all, a good outing.

The Treasure App was delightful! The Church Chee Duck was by far my favorite dish and will be back for more!

Its a great place to eat, i have never had a bad experience here. The yum beef is also an amazing dish that much better than any other Thai restaurants

Food was good but took forever to get it

This was our first time here. The decor feels upscale, the menu is excellent, and the staff is attentive. They offer a separate wine menu. The Tom Ka soup was superb, as well as the Thai Dumplings. I had Drunken Noodles, which was excellent, although I could not get through all of the noodles. My partner had the Thai Ginger. The fusion of tastes was out of this world. This is BY FAR the best local Thai restaurant. This will be our go-to Thai place.

This is by far my favorite place for Thai food. I’ve tried many places in Charlotte and nothing compares to this place. Great food, big portions, and great prices!

If you're looking for a unique authentic style of asian dishes this is the place to be. A few friends and I ordered different dishes to share and they all were full flavored. You will have to wait longer because everything is cooked fresh on order but it is worth it. A must try

It was really good.....wasn't sure...we were looking for somewhere to eat in a town we've never been to. Food was tasty and good, service friendly and quick...will have to stop on way back through again sometime!

Food was delicious, great Thai taste. I had the drunken noodles and it was awesome; taste just as great as the drunken noodles from the lao store in Newton. The only con was the slow service, took over 30 minutes+; only one server in the whole restaurant and the phone just kept ringing but no one to answer. Overall experience would be a 4.5 because the food was definitely two thumbs up. Definitely worth a try but go if you have time/no rush or try to order by phone- if anyone is available to pick up.

Amazing dinner, staff are kind and constantly checking to see if you need anything. Customer satisfaction is always successful, a variety of dishes. Customer gets to decide how intense the spice is in there dish on a scale of 1 to 5. They have amazing thai tea.

Nice little Thai restaurant tucked awsy in a strip mall off hwy127. Food was very good in traditional Thai style. If you want spicy, be sure to tell them!We'll be returning to this hidden gem..

Simply amazing! If you've got an itch for Thai food this is the place to be. Its not crowded inside and as a result, the atmosphere is nice and quiet, allowing you to enjoy your food in comfort, and some food it is. Any menu item is virtually guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I would recommend the Drunken Noodle. There are also great choices for the kids and they offer various bubble teas and the likes. You really cant go wrong with Mekvilai!

The Masama Curry was delicious, and the Thai dumplings were a great appetizer. Large portions for a reasonable price!

I really miss Tia's, but mekvilai is still the same, just a little fancier. Food is still the best Thai food I've eaten in the USA.

Best Thai in town. This is a true freshly-made restaurant so don't be in a hurry. The Yum Beef and Drunken Noodle are among my favorite dishes.

My favorite quiet restaurant in Hickory. The food is always on point. Try the drunken noodles if you like it hot and try the green papaya salad if you like zippy salads.

This place is only getting two stars instead of one because their food is actually really good as is the service. The problem is that we arrived at 6:05pm, ordered at 6:12pm and were just told at 7:44pm that the kitchen had Just started preparing our food and it would be 20-30 more minutes. We had to leave.

Very rude and take way too long

This is a great Thai restaurant. My family loves it. The place is decorated really nice. It seemed pretty clean. We have been there 2 times and the food is exactly what you want. I can’t remember all the names of the plates but I got pictures. Service was decent. The bathroom did have a funny smell but most of them do. They don’t have ginger tea. I would recommend stopping here for sure! We will be back as well.

Best Thai food in Hickory. I usually get the Green Curry but last night had the Hot Basil with tofu.

On point 👌 Best in and around Hickory. Seriously. Try Rama Chicken for entree and their sampler for appetizer. Thai tea is so good.

I have been eating here for years... never disappoints.... food is always supremely flavorful... don't go for a quick bite though.... everything is prepared fresh to order so the is a bit of a wait for the amazing food, but is totally worth it!

Nice ambiance & the food is even better!!

This is a hidden gem in the Viewmont area of Hickory. This restaurant has dim lighting, except at each table, where there is a hanging dedicated light over head. We were there late in the evening, and only a few other tables were taken. The eating area is very clean and organized. The food is very fresh tasting, not overcooked and flavorful. We will definitely go her again in the future.
